A Utah Assistive Technology Team (UATT) supports every school, LEA, and IEP team in Utah. These teams evaluate, acquire, and manage assistive technology for students with disabilities. We support and coordinate with IEP teams to train students, caregivers, educators, and service providers in using assistive technology in education and the major life functions of students with disabilities. The Jordan Utah Assistive Technology Team includes speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and special education teachers.
IDEA dictates that assistive technology should be considered at all initial and annual IEP meetings. This task can feel overwhelming so we have developed an Assistive Technology Consideration and Resource Guide. This guide is designed to assist IEP teams in considering whether assistive technology could increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of your student.
If you would like support in assessing if an assistive technology would be a good fit for your student or if you would like to check out an assistive technology tool for your student to use, please complete our digital UATT referral form.
If you have any questions regarding assistive technology, contact Cheri Blue, assistive technology team lead at (801) 567-8650 or Cheri.Blue@JordanDistrict.org.
