Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

The Teachers for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing provide services for students who have a diagnosed hearing loss that adversely affects their ability to perform in class.  We are a pull-out, itinerant program.  We provide consultation services for students not requiring direct service.  We help the teacher with accommodations that need to be made to assist the student.  We provide direct services, mainly in the area of language development, listening skills, and hearing aid maintenance, for students from preschool to post-high school.  We help with the evaluation of students whose hearing loss may be seen as detrimental to their learning environment.  We also determine if students need sign language interpreters.
